It has since been upgraded further with dual SSDs, more RAM, and Linux of course!<\/p>\n<p>*There is only ONE issue, it currently has NO BATTERY. So it is essentially a &#8216;mobile desktop&#8217; that requires being connected to power in order to be used. Generally the Linux installation will be\u00a0<strong>customized Ubuntu 22.04 with Cinnamon Desktop<\/strong>. The OS is configured to make it an\u00a0<strong>EASY SWITCH from WINDOWS.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NOTE &#8211; Many machines are now shipping with <strong>Ubuntu 24.04<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All CHD Machines are professionally cleaned, upgraded, and refurbished. Every machine comes with a MINIMUM of an SSD upgrade, most have RAM upgrades as well. All Machines are INDIVIDUALLY TESTED prior to shipping for at least 8 hours, and all hardware tested.<\/p>\n<p>All systems have the \u2018computrace\u2019\u00a0<strong>tracking software disabled<\/strong> at the BIOS level (when possible), But even if computrace is not disabled at the BIOS level, installing linux makes Computrace useless, as it relies upon Windows-based rootkit software to function. as well as <strong>\u2018Intel Management Engine\u2019 disabled<\/strong> at the BIOS level (when possible). (These BIOS additions allow 3rd party access to the system, and therefore have been disabled by default whenever possible. Each system&#8217;s specifications will include details where necessary.)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #a35812;\"><strong>Ubuntu Desktop<\/strong><\/span> has been\u00a0<strong>CUSTOMIZED to \u2018feel\u2019 like Windows<\/strong>, for users switching from Windows, it should be a really<strong>\u00a0nice and simple switch.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>**<strong>Note<\/strong> &#8211; At the moment CHD is utilizing either <strong><span style=\"color: #a35812;\">Ubuntu Desktop, Zorin OS,<\/span><\/strong> or <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">PoP-OS<\/span><\/strong>, no matter which is utilized, they are both configured to look\/feel exactly the same, with Cinnamon Desktop Environment. There are a few subtle differences, but overall they are &#8216;identical&#8217;. CHD is also working on customizing the default Desktop Environment, so that it looks\/feels\/functions like Mac. So that users can choose whether they would like a more &#8216;mac-like&#8217; environment or a &#8216;windows-like&#8217; environment. Default is windows-like (cinnamon) and alternative &#8216;mac-like&#8217; will be either &#8216;ubuntu&#8217; or &#8216;pop-OS&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Theme customization for ease of use, and clean visual appeal. Also modifications to other settings for ease of function and better overall feel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qortal Core\u00a0and\u00a0Qortal UI\u00a0pre-installed<\/strong>, along with a startup configuration for the Qortal Core, so it will start automatically, and the Qortal Core icon will show on the taskbar. Default Qortal settings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CHD\u2019s own \u2018auto-fix-qortal\u2019 scripts<\/strong>\u00a0setup to run automatically both at reboot and every 5 days at 1:01 AM,\u00a0<strong>to ensure your Qortal software is always at the latest release, and if it isn\u2019t, FIXES IT FOR YOU.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Power management customization to prevent machine from \u2018sleeping\u2019 so that Qortal Core can run without issues. Also\u00a0<strong>configured to \u2018do nothing\u2019 when laptop lid is closed<\/strong>, to\u00a0<strong>allow Qortal to keep running even while screen is closed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008080;\">All purchases from CHD support Qortal Development.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Default Software Installed (much more than what is listed) (Special Requests Possible):<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Audio\/video player software<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 VLC media player (best media player and converter that exists in CHD opinion)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Open Office<\/strong>\u00a0(Document, spreadsheet, database, presentation editor)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chromium Browser<\/strong>\u00a0(set to default browser) \u2013\u00a0 with hardware acceleration enabled \u2013\u00a0<strong>Firefox browser<\/strong>\u00a0also installed. \u2013\u00a0<strong>Tor and\/or I2P can be installed upon request.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>GiMP image manipulation software<\/strong>\u00a0(Photoshop alternative)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Imagick<\/strong>\u00a0(vector graphics editor)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Qortal Core and Qortal UI<\/strong>\u00a0(including \u2018launchers\u2019 in the panel and on the desktop)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Qortal Core GUI auto-start<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Qortal Automation Scripts<\/strong>\u00a0to automatically recover node if Qortal Core happens to fall behind in release version.
